Technium OpTIC Scoops Top European Development Award

First Minister Rhodri Morgan has pledged to continue Wales’ transformation into a “global leading light in innovation” following the announcement that Wales has scooped a top European award for regional development on the same day as the first Convergence projects get the go-ahead.

OpTIC Technium in St Asaph - an innovation centre at the heart of a dynamic cluster of companies in North Wales - has won a prestigious RegioStars Award 2008 for its cutting-edge research and development (R&D) within the Opto-electronics industry.

Engineering institution hand out accolade

A HI-TECH business based in Denbighshire has received an accolade from one of the UK’s leading engineering institutions.

Laser Micromachining Limited (LML), based at Technium OpTIC, St Asaph Business Park, has been awarded the MNT (micro and nano-technology) Quality Mark by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers as part of the organisation’s internationally recognised manufacturing excellence awards programme.

The Duke of Kent visits Technium OpTIC

On 19th February, the Duke of Kent took a 90 minute tour of Technium OpTIC facility which has helped drive growth of the opto-electronics cluster in the St Asaph area.
